4.08 Minnesota Fats - RB Gus Johnson

In the real world: The Oakland Raiders signed Johnson, the 2014 Southland Conference Player of the Year, as an undrafted free agent out of Stephen F. Austin. He's a compact runner with strength and grit and it seemed like he had landed in a good job situation (good enough that Evan Silva of Rotoworld ranked him 20th on his list of dynasty rookie RBs, which he published on May 11). However, the very same day he published that article, the Raiders also picked up Louisville's Michael Dyer, a running back who (unlike Johnson) has produced against a higher level of competition, albeit with a couple red flags (also unlike Johnson). Not long afterwards, they waived Johnson.
In the TUFF world: Aaaaaaaaand here's the other draft pick the Fats got from Green Bay in that trade down from 1.01. Right now Ken Mach must be hoping that another NFL team picks up Johnson; otherwise, this will end up as another wasted pick. There aren't many job opportunities left in the NFL now, though, and as of May 20, he hasn't signed with anyone else.
