2.16 Detroit Vipers - WR Chris Conley

In the real world: Conley's job situation with the Kansas City Chiefs, who drafted him in Round 3, is favorable given that they don't have much beyond free agent signing Jeremy Maclin. Conley was an athletic freak at the Combine with a 4.35 40 (same as Kevin White), which is excellent given his size (6'2", 213); a 45-inch vertical leap and an 11'7" broad jump. He wasn't really productive in college, but some of that could be chalked up to the Bulldogs' run-heavy offense under Mark Richt (and you can't blame them for running the ball so much when they had Todd Gurley on their team).
In the TUFF world: The Vipers got this pick, along with WR Kendall Wright, in the trade that sent RB Reggie Bush to the Pittsburgh BIG PAPAS. They would have preferred a running back here, but none of the ones they were interested in fell to 2.16. So they decided to just get the best value they could for this pick, and Conley's mix of commodities (size, speed) and potential job situation make him a good value here.
